PTT Global Chemical PCL or GC signed an MoU on the "Use of Environment-Conscious Packaging BioPBS and the collaboration to encourage the sorting of plastic packaging to foster an awareness in accordance with the concept of circular economy" together with Chulalongkorn University, in order to encourage the use of biodegradable plastics and drive plastic waste management in the university’s premises in a fully-integrated manner, serving as the model institution of the country in waste management. On this occasion, Khun Supattanapong Punmeechaow, President and Chief Executive Officer of GC, co-signed the MoU with Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-Arporn, Chancellor of Chulalongkorn University on July 10, 2018 at Chulalongkorn University.

In this particular collaboration, GC encouraged Chulalongkorn University to use environment-friendly packaging, for instance, zero-waste cups made with bio plastic-coated paper BioPBSTM that can be decomposed in the form of fertilizer within 180 days. Furthermore, GC contributed to promote an understanding for people in Chulalongkorn University and nearby communities on managing plastic waste, starting from sorting types of waste, storing, recycling and encouraging the use of recycled products under the concept of circular economy to minimize plastic waste problems in an effective and sustainable manner.
