"Chemicals Unite Against Breast Cancer" Project
GC, in collaboration with Sabina Public Company Limited, has implemented the "Chemicals Unite Against Breast Cancer" project continuously since 2012 to the present. The project provides LLDPE (Off-Spec) plastic resin as a key component in the production of prosthetic breasts for breast cancer patients after surgery, through the "Sabina Sewing Cup Sewing Heart" activity, which invites the general public to volunteer in sewing prosthetic breasts. The project also provides education about breast cancer, including prevention and treatment, to reduce the risk and suffering from the disease, which is the leading cause of death among Thai women. In the past year, the project promoted its activities through online media and social media, receiving excellent response with a large number of participants. Since the project's inception, over 317,100 prosthetic breasts have been produced and donated to patients, representing savings in expenses for patients of over 113,193,990 baht.
In addition, GC has supported unbleached fabric produced through the upcycling process from PET plastic bottles for making bags to contain prosthetic breast sewing equipment (Sewing Sets). This was carried out in collaboration with Sabina Company Limited, the Angel Reaches You New Day Foundation, and Jitarsa Social Enterprise Company Limited, all of which share the same commitment to providing vocational training and generating income for female inmates, equipping them with occupational skills for use after their release from prison so they can lead normal lives. Under the project name "Angels Behind the Wall," this initiative has created employment for female inmates by generating income from sewing over 20,000 "Sewing Set fabric bags."
