On March 23, 2020, Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer of GC, presented an initial 9,000 medical gowns for healthcare professionals at Thammasat University Hospital and Vajira Hospital to help prevent infections. The donation was received by Prof. Dr. Suraphol Nitikraipot, chairman of the executive board at Thammasat University Hospital, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pharuhat Tor-Udom, Director of Thammasat University Hospital, and was witnessed by Dr. Ronnapop Pattamadis, Vice Minister for the Office of the Prime Minister, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilok Piyayothai, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, and Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding of GC, along with GC’s executive team.

GC has consistently supported the health and well-being of Thais. In the midst of the rapid outbreak of the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, the company is particularly concerned about frontline healthcare workers who are assisting infected patients and playing a pivotal role in the outbreak. As a result, GC is providing a total of 41,000 specially-crafted medical gowns for healthcare professionals for use at twelve hospitals and venues that are treating COVID-19 cases. They are located in Bangkok, Rayong and Chonburi at: Thammasat University Hospital, Chulalongkorn Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, Siriraj Hospital, Ramathibodi Hospital, Vajira Hospital, Phramongkutklao Hospital, Rajavithi Hospital, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, Police General Hospital, Rayong Hospital, Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, the Naval Medical Department, and Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn.

The medical gowns provided by GC are disposable and made from Polyethylene (PE) under the company’s ‘InnoPlus’ brand. This mandatory protective equipment should be properly discarded and sorted after each use to help reduce the risk of infections from patients amid the spike in new daily cases. Therefore, medical gowns are specially designed and cut with long, wide sleeves making them easily wearable, lightweight, providing flexibility and dexterity, helping prevent the risk of infections transmitted from patients to healthcare professions at the screening sites, and allowing the proper triaging and admittance of COVID-19 patients to hospitals.
