Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd., (BIG), Thailand’s leading innovative industrial gas solutions, recently partnered with PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), a leading chemical company for better living, to provide medical oxygen to five hospitals in Bangkok and Eastern Thailand to support patients experiencing severe COVID-19 infections during the country’s current outbreak.

Mr. Patiparn Sukorndhaman, President of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), said, “Given the current situation, both GC and BIG are aware of the need to increase support for medical treatment due to the growing number of patients requiring hospitalization nationwide. To respond, GC decided to support the urgent production and supply of medical oxygen. This collaboration between our two companies to deliver 360 tons of medical oxygen to five hospitals in Rayong province, the home of GC, and in the Bangkok area, will be able to support 400 severely infected COVID-19 patients.”

Mr. Piyabut Charupen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd., (BIG), said, “BIG is a manufacturer and provider of medical oxygen services to hospitals in Thailand. To properly handle the latest COVID-19 outbreak, BIG restarted its Air Separation Unit (ASU) Plant 1 to produce and support oxygen needs at 30% of current demand. We are being fully supported by GC in delivering medical oxygen at 99% purity according to Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) standards.”

The five hospitals that received the 360 tons of liquid medical oxygen, valued at over 10 million baht, to support critical care patients are:

1. Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, Chonburi
2. Klaeng Hospital, Rayong
3. Rayong Hospital in Honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Rayong
4. Lerdsin Hospital, Bangkok
5. Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital, Bangkok

As the most recent COVID-19 wave has intensified, both GC and BIG recognize the urgent need to act and are together providing medical oxygen to treat COVID-19 patients while encouraging and supporting healthcare and medical workers to do their best to help curb the spread of infections.
