Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Operating Officer – Upstream Petrochemical Business, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), was one of the attendees at the “SD Symposium 10 Years: Circular Economy – Collaboration for Action” event organized by SCG.

The event aimed to build co-operation among organizations in several sectors, driving the concept of the Circular Economy in Thailand to achieve sustainable development goals in the near future. The prime minister of Thailand, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, joined over 1,500 participants at the event to acknowledge waste management guidelines for the Thai government. The event took place on August 26, 2019, at the Centara Grand Hotel at Central World, Bangkok.

According to Dr. Kongkrapan, "As a leader in the petrochemical business under the umbrella of PTT Group, GC has a clear vision to provide chemistry for better living. We pledge to reduce our CO2 emissions to fight global warming and develop specialty chemical products and ‘green chemicals’ to be ready for the ban on single-use plastics that will take effect within the next five years."

"When co-operating with others, it’s also important to ensure that everyone in our organization works towards our shared goals. We make sure our people are organized and well-prepared to develop partnerships so that we can create shared value, which will encourage others to work with us. For example, we have collaborated with our customers and partners to implement several initiatives throughout the value chain in value-added and environmental products that contribute to sustainability," added Dr. Kongkrapan.
