GC and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation join together to support the Circular Economy and give away T-shirts from Upcycling by GC as a gifts to tourists

The “Sort, Exchange the Gift” initiative, recently organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, gave away T-shirts from the Upcycling by GC project as a gift for tourists who refuse and reduce the use of single-use plastics and food packaging foam in national parks.

On December 20, 2019, Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer, gave T-shirts from Upcycling by GC to Mr. Chongklai Voraphongsathon, Deputy Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to mark the success of applying the Circular Economy in creating new products at the Customer Solution Center (CSC).

Upcycling by GC T-shirts represent an effective product and plastic waste management system, which begins with appropriate separation, and changing the cycle of used plastic bottles by upcycling and adding value to them. The purpose of this initiative was to build environmental awareness among Thais and tourists at national parks who are visiting for recreation or on study visits. The approach was subsequently extended by implementing a pilot integrated plastic waste management project within national parks as part of the country’s Circular Economy model. Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, Mr. Dumras Phoprasit, Director of the National Parks Office, and Dr. Songtam Suksawang, a pre-eminent expert on wildlife and forest resource conservation, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, were among the distinguished guests who joined the event.
