GC believes in and is committed to contributing to sustainability, having incorporated its principles and concepts with a readiness to quickly adapt to effectively cope with today’s challenges. As one of the leading companies in Thailand, GC is communicating and sharing its best practices on sustainability.

On September 17, 2020, Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, GC’s Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, gave lecture via video conference entitled, ‘Adapting Businesses towards Resilience’ at the Sustainability Forum 2020, organized by the Thailand Management Association (TMA). The conference included representatives from both the public and private sectors, and advisors in sustainability management, and attracted many viewers who were interested in watching online.

Dr. Chaya’s lecture focused on the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which has had an impact on the petrochemical and chemicals industry. He also outlined the important objectives for GC to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were subsequently upgraded to include:

  • A commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from operations, with a focus on reductions throughout the supply chain to minimize the impacts caused by climate change.
  • Embracing a more Circular Economy based on GC Circular Living: Total Solutions for Everyone as a sustainable solution. Examples include developing plastic-based products, including upcycled and bio-based products, that meet the needs of various groups of partners, customers, and consumers.
  • Collaborating with various groups at the community, local, and national levels to increase social engagement and develop more integrated and effective connections. GC is also ready to play an important role in driving sustainability management nationally and internationally.
