GC, ThaiBev, Thai Union, along with the Thailand Supply Chain Network (TSCN) and related agencies joined together to organize the “Thailand Sustainability Expo 2020” event which took place from 1-4 October 2020 at Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok. The event, under the Sufficiency for Sustainability concept, had a clear purpose of raising social awareness on the importance of sustainable development, and providing opportunities and building a network for social engagement that contributes to concrete implementation. The event brought together activities, projects, stories, and exhibits dealing with sustainability from the public and private sectors, and civil society. Over 50 speakers were invited to share their insights and experiences at the event.

On October 1, 2020, Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, joined the opening ceremony of the “Thailand Sustainability Expo 2020.” On October 3, 2020, Dr. Kongkrapan, together with Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, CEO of ThaiBev, and Mr. Thiraphong Chansiri, President and CEO of Thai Union Group PCL, participated as speakers in the CEO Panel Discussion session which covered a “Decade of Sustainability in Action.” Dr. Chaya also spoke on the topic of “GC Sustainability Showcase: A Sample of GC’s Successful Projects for Sustainability” at the event.

“Operating with sustainability in mind begins with having the right mindset, and then stepping up as needed. GC is setting up our greenhouse gas account with extensive plans for a greenhouse gas protocol - corporate supply chain (scope 3) and connecting the loops throughout our value chain, for which we are collaborating with all sectors including thought leaders from the public and private sectors. By working together, we can pool our ideas and contribute to sustainability to initiate new projects with broader impacts benefiting the economy, society, and the environment,” said Dr. Kongrapan.
