GC participated in the “Waste This Way” campaign: Help Save the Earth the Right Way to promote effective waste management activities at the 74th Chulalongkorn – Thammasat Traditional Football Match, while supporting a Circular Living lifestyle in which resources are efficiently used in our everyday lives through the concept of ‘Reduce, Change, Sort,’ an effective way to reduce waste from the source, while promoting waste separation and eco-friendly materials. This included sorting waste and reusing materials at the event to produce new value-added products through the recycling and upcycling process.

This year, GC set a clear goal of increasing awareness about environmental conservation among the younger generation who will shape the future of the nation. The campaign also aimed to play a pivotal role in addressing the waste issue in the area around the National Stadium. Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, and teams of executives and employees, including GC volunteers, joined the campaign which took place on February 8, 2020.

This year, GC supported the organizing teams of the traditional football match consisting of students from the two universities, in effective waste management by providing sector experts who offered advice on designing activities. The company also provided food packaging made from bioplastic, certified with the GC Compostable label, a biodegradable and eco-friendly option, together with products made from discarded plastics through the upcycling process, such as T-shirts and bags. The campaign was an important opportunity for young people to learn by doing, encouraging them to apply the Circular Living concept in their daily lives, while increasing awareness in society to more efficiently use resources.
