GC joins a panel discussion on “Thailand’s Climate Leadership: Build Forward Better – Turning the Climate Crisis into Business Opportunities” event

On September 28, 2021, Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding spoke at the "Thailand's Climate Leadership: Build Forward Better – Turning the Climate Crisis into Business Opportunities" event organized by the Global Compact Network Thailand exchanging his thoughts and ideas with the hosts of COP 26 (2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference), along with a discussion on the strategic drivers and broader issues of climate change with Thai and international business leaders.

Dr. Chaya emphasized that GC is singularly focused on climate and circular operations through three key principles: Efficiency-Driven, Portfolio-Driven and Compensation-Driven, which will move the company towards its net zero goal in 2050. GC is confident of achieving this objective. In addition to the COP 26 meeting which was held in the United Kingdom in November, GC hopes for further discussions and negotiations between countries around the world to accelerate cooperation on climate change as well as the mechanisms that support the attainment of net zero goals, such as advanced technologies, improved awareness, and financial support.
