GC is raising social awareness among Thais and playing an important role in supporting and applying the circular economy into everyday life. On October 7, 2020, Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, GC’s Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, was invited to speak at the third Circular Economy Webinar Series organized by the Thailand Responsible Business Network (TRBN) on the topic of “Circular Economy in Action: Game Changer.” Representatives from the private sector who are contributing to the circular economy joined the event which attracted a wide-ranging audience from the private sector, institutes, and individuals online.

Dr. Chaya discussed GC’s operations and how they incorporate the Circular Economy, which is a key strategy for the company. GC also highlighted the concept of GC Circular Living which focuses on the efficient use of resources achieving maximum benefits. This incorporates the principles of the sufficiency economy to reduce environmental impacts while building a balance in the supply chain. Through this framework, GC initiated the ‘Send Plastic Home’ project in partnership with TRBN to raise awareness and promote proper plastic waste practices that focus on increasing reuse. The project is considered a game changer as it extends the operations of the circular economy across Thailand.
