GC helps reduce the spread of COVID-19 by providing shields for use in Wongnai x LINE MAN’s restaurant network

Everyone has been affected by COVID-19. But in addition to helping medical professionals at risk with a variety of protective equipment, GC is also prioritizing small business owners who are also suffering. GC created wall shields which are manufactured from GC’s products for use in Wongnai x LINE Man's restaurant network, consisting of 50 restaurants in the Chinatown area and along Charoen Krung Road. The wall shields will help provide protection from the virus as lockdown measures ease allowing restaurants to fully operate. The wall shield, made of a thick plastic (PET) sheet, is strong, and resistant to wind and rain making it suitable for use in open-air shops, while still being clear. Customers can see each other clearly as they dine together and the shops have an airy and unobstructed look. The wall shields can also be adapted for use based on the size of the table. GC partnered with Qualy in the shield’s design. The clip for the wall shield is also made of 100% recyclable materials, half of which comes from used fishing nets from the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) Thailand’s Net Free Seas Project, which works to reduce and recycle waste. This innovation provides both functionality and an environmentally friendly solution.

On June 2, 2020, Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, together with GC executives, provided wall shields to Mr. Yod Chinsupakkul, CEO of Wongnai, Khun Waranan Chuangcham, Head of Business Development and Marketing at LINE MAN, together with Mr. Theerachai Suppameteekulwat, Design Director and Co-Founder of Qualy, at GC’s Customer Solution Center (CSC), EnCo Building A.
