GC expands its cooperation with the academic sector extending operational opportunities in the Circular Economy with Dhurakij Pundit University

GC was invited to lecture on guidelines for the Circular Economy, with a particular focus on management of plastic packaging waste, for which the company is leading by example, having created a cooperative network of higher educational institutions. Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President of Sustainability and Corporate Branding, were honored to work with Dr. Darika Lathapipat, President of Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) on June 25, 2020 to support the DPU Green University by GC Circular Living Platform which encourages cooperation and provides opportunities for GC to implement the Circular Economy at Dhurakij Pundit University.

DPU is interested in building on this collaboration to develop its waste management. The university supports more than 20,000 students on campus and in dormitories. GC is pleased to increase understanding about the Circular Economy including handling waste for management (logistics) and adding value to waste, especially plastic waste, and to further improve awareness among both students and faculty.
DPU came fourth in Thailand’s Green University ranking in 2018 and 134th in the world by the UI Green Metric World University Ranking 2018 with a total score of 6,125 points. A total of 719 universities were assessed around the world.
