When various sectors around the world come together to balance economic growth, well-being, and public health, including the conservation of natural resources and the environment, one of the key drivers is to reduce carbon emissions or decarbonization. Therefore, a joint international goal regarding decarbonization has been set.
GC has set decarbonization goals and pathways. The goal is to attain net zero emissions for scope 1 and 2 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent for scope 3 by 2050.
Setting such goals is a challenging target for the business. GC has applied the principles of circular economy, combined with three different approaches, to offset carbon emissions and decarbonize. The three approaches are:
